Kenny Rogers

　　　Kenny Rogers，1938年8月21日出生于美国德克萨斯州的公民区，在家中的8个孩子中排行第4。父亲是一个船坞的搬运工，母亲在一家医院里打工，凭着坚韧不拔的毅力，Kenny Rogers成为家族中唯一取得学位的人。

        1955年，Kenny Rogers加入“Doo-Woo"乐队。录制了一些专栏作曲家苏拉.帕森斯大林创作的歌曲，如《可怜的小狗》、《旋转的轮子》、《肯治华》等。19岁的时候，Kenny Rogers为赫斯顿的一个小制作室录制了一首名为《疯狂的感觉》的歌曲，他在美国德卡公司工作的兄弟为这张唱片做推广。这张唱片取得的有限成功促使兄弟俩组建了一个自己的制作室。

        后来，Kenny Rogers加入了“新基督教游吟人”乐队，并参与录制了乐队1967年的热门歌曲专辑。然而这个乐队最终还是解散了。

        Kenny Rogers和分离出来的其它乐队成员迈克.斯蒂尔、泰尔玛.卡玛以及泰瑞.威廉姆斯共同组建了新乐队，其第一张专辑就使他们一举成名。之后，乐队与瑞普莱斯公司签约。不久，瑞普莱斯公司推出了由Kenny Rogers主唱的新专辑《顺路而过》。先是其中的一首由迈克.斯蒂尔的叙事歌曲《你知道我爱你》打入了美国的排行榜。接着，以讲述一个有色人种处处受人责备为内容的叙事歌曲《鲁宾.詹姆斯》又把迈克.戴维斯的一首描写赤裸裸**的歌曲《某物在燃烧》（美国排行榜第11位，英国排行榜第8位）挤落马下。

        Kenny Rogers在自己的《母亲的苦待》这一专辑中贯穿了乡村歌曲的风格，将母亲、监狱，死亡、上帝、归家等题材融合到了一起。

       离开了瑞普莱斯之后，Kenny Rogers又组建了自己的制作室。1974年当他解散乐队时，已经积累了65000美元。

       1975年，Kenny Rogers与“联合艺术家”签约。制作人莱瑞.布鲁特打算把亿培养成在流行音乐及乡村音乐上都有所成就的音乐家。果不其然，《露塞尔》（美国排行榜第5，英国排行榜第1）奠定了Kenny Rogers作为一位伟大的乡村歌手的地位。此后，一首专为Kenny Rogers而作的叙事歌《赌徒》(The gambler)成了他的代表曲目。同时，那首深深地表达他对自由生活热爱的《她信任我》（美国排行榜第5）更使他的地位得到巩固。

        Kenny Rogers共结过5次婚，第一次结婚是在1958年，那时他20岁。Kenny Rogers认为，他的首次婚姻的失败主要应归罪于亿频繁的巡演。Kenny Rogers的第四位妻子名叫玛瑞安.高登，是一位美国电视节目主持人。
        此后，Kenny Rogers推出了一系列的上榜歌曲。如：Lionel Richie创作的情歌《女士》（连续6个星期居美国排行榜首）《我不需要你》（美国排行榜第一）与希娜.伊斯顿、鲍博.塞格合作录制的《今晚我们将成功》（美国排行榜第6，共计售出3500张），《溪中之岛》（Island in the stream)(美国排行榜第一，英国排行榜第7），与詹姆斯合作的《我怎么了》(What about me)等。在才华四溢的制作人乔治.马丁为Kenny Rogers制作的《物之心》专辑中，单曲《早晨的热望》、《无名爱人之墓》都曾名列排行榜首位。

        Kenny Rogers的儿子小Kenny Rogers曾为父亲的唱片演唱过背景和声部分。1989年，小Kenny Rogers以一首《再靠近》开始了他自己的歌唱事业。

        Kenny Rogers在乔治亚州拥有一座面积为1200亩的农场。他在那里饲养阿拉伯马以及牛群。Kenny Rogers还拥有一所娱乐中心和一个在200个雇员的音乐制作室。

        Kenny Rogers现正为一个独立工作室——玛格纳顿制作唱片。
