Jaci Velasquez(杰西·韦拉斯克斯)生于80年代早期，10岁开始歌唱，13岁就到白宫去参加表演，1995年的第一张单曲就创下了CCM排行榜第一名的好成绩，之后更是佳绩不断，包括拉丁格莱美奖提名等等，至今唱片销量已超出300万张，在当地可以说是家喻户晓，演唱风格则是兼具热情奔放、柔缓抒情，相信听过专辑之后定会对她动听的嗓音、极富特色的演唱风格留下较深的印象.....

Jaci Velasquez有着和Christina 相似的声音，却比后者乖巧健康；她也有着和jennifer lopez类似的拉丁气质，却比后者多了一份青春活力。1979年出生的Jaci Velasquez在她17岁时已经征服了拉丁福音歌坛。
Jaci Velasquez的成名曲on my knees，听来完全不似17岁的小女孩的作品，却有着资深歌者的魅力和深度。1996年正是ccm乐坛向世俗乐坛反攻的一年。有相当多的歌手从半福音半世俗的状态进入完完全全的ccm，包括amy grant 和bebe & cece winans。Jaci Velasquez正好搭上了这班顺风车，并为ccm音乐补上了latin pop这个缺口。在她之前，latin ccm尚是一片空白。
Jaci Velasquez的乐风动静皆宜，有热辣的拉丁舞曲，也有慢板。她的听众群十分广泛，尤其在西班牙语系的人群受到格外追捧。前年Jaci Velasquez又向影坛进军，拍摄了一部叫“chasing pepi"的电影 ，但是这部电影遭到了歌迷强烈的抵制，也许是CCM领域的歌迷实在不能接受自己的偶像成为世俗文化的牺牲品吧。很多歌迷觉得Jaci Velasquez拍摄如此的电影是为ccm歌坛丢脸。
